song of the slender girls

were born that way

they do not need to be punished more than they do to them

selves

they cannot shake what their mama never gave

do they take up space too much with their bones and wild grins?

no, they have to use their eyes for fullness until there’s a pool of tears swelling everything

when they swallow, you can see what they’re eating

they cannot hide what they consume, no lies only truths

no, slender girls are in your face, flicking rings off their fingers all over the place
