new year sparkle in the park

remember this first dance 

of the season, searching 

for the robin, seeing 

canada goose take charge, 

following the noon sun –

the path is icy only in places 

we’re drawn to – see the shadows

of lockdown ghost squirrelling 

under the drone which tracks nothing 

with spark

if the fallen leaves can take on the frost, 

so can you
