independent

I have a united heart, yet one chamber fights for independence.

Some of its borders must be imagined

so as not to cut off blood supply.

It can do quite well on its own though,

floundering, dancing a breasted beat

like a fish on harbour stone, knowing I am in the music

of my life. Another chamber comes along for the ride

knowing the teamwork of senses, the bebop of blood.
