double trouble

to say it again, I

have two hearts now

his safe inside meĀ

so that if one might break again

the other is bouyant

holding me up

as I drift to the mending shore

again, with needle and thread

between my teeth, you

can’t fathom someone

with two hearts this deep?

me, mending nets on the beach

but you keep your eyes on the horizon

touch me and one will implode

push me and the other will explode
