dandelions

please don’t cut the dandelions, let them lie
they once were key workers for the soil
let them save lives, create joy
they are not in the way of us
a dandy pride of lions dancing yellow beauty
on the spot, like us in lockdown
when we were stuck in our little boxes
trying to keep fit, let them be
a lion’s roar hunting nutrients
in constellations
