angel wings flapping in my dna

guardian angels in my DNA

fighting with soft ghosts and cruel skeletons

just by flapping their wings

powered by people who have left me floundering

the universe runs through the spine of my DNA

like a hot flush, its resilient petals open

and close with time, transitions of light and dark

photosynthesis of photographs in a box

hidden inside the family tree
