schoolgirls

Schoolgirls,
the dinner ladies rolled their stockings down
and hitched their skirts up just like you now,
it’s nothing new, they’ve been doing it
in gardens of Eden since the dinosaurs.
Like Columbus before you, they discovered
such things a waste of time, that grime
sticks to open flesh and there is vital
stuff to be done instead, like feeding children,
reading books, solidarity and fun.
