Happy Birthday, Kate Bush

time travel sisters (a self-indulgent time travel fantasy)

i wanted a sister in real time
and you as my time travel sister, Kate.
We have the birthdays mastered and mistressed:
you have Emily and i have Anne

sisters hand in hand,
lost in time,
found in time travel,
no time to waste,
let’s go to:

summer 1847, The Parsonage, Church Street, Haworth
then
summer 1977, 44 Wickham Road, London
then
summer 2015, here
then
winter 1827 Gondal, North of Gaaldine

soft-spotted by them heavy people,
we’ll play those wooden soldiers
and be back in time for tea.
We are swinging balls on pendulums
arms waving around, seemingly
aimless, waiting to synchronise
in time, as sisters.
