Emily Dickinson reblogged

A bird, came down the walk –
Taking a selfie —
It did not know but,
I saw the selfie stick.
It bit a worm in half
And ate the fellow raw,

And then, it drank the dew
From a convenient grass,
Then posted it all on instagram.
And then hopped sidewise to the wall
To let a beetle pass
And take another selfie.

It glanced with rapid eyes, and pouty lips
That hurried all abroad —
Eyes like frightened beads, I thought,
Waiting for the likes to grow.

(with apologies to Emily Dickinson for mauling her poem)
