Who am I?
I am a copywriter, poet, researcher and online curator. I sometimes write as Betty (it’s a long story). I am also an art lover, international time-travelling vintage detective, simpering cat-botherer and self-appointed queen of my corner of the internet.
What do I do?
I write about history, art, design, cinema, travel and everything in between.
I want, always, to write about these things and more.
I’ve done my fair share of copywriting, blog posts, poetry, articles, reviews, transcripts, shopping lists, passive-aggressive notes and meticulous adventures in proofreading.
What’s my story?
I began by writing reviews and articles about art and cinema.
I then spent thirteen years as a news researcher.
This indulged my passion for not being a news researcher. So…
I gave it all up to travel more and ended up working on cruise ships. Now I’m back in Scotland after several years.
I’ve still got that travelling bug and, now, my writing itch has returned and the research scab still gets a good picking.
What do I know?
BA(Hons) Degree in the History of Modern Art, Design and Film.
Qualifications in photography, proofreading, massage therapy and communications.
I write and curate my favourite topics online.
I have created various websites, all written, produced, edited and proofread by me. I have grown my own audience and followers through online content and digital marketing (social media and online curation). I do my own marketing, SEO, photography and site maintenance as well as providing the content.

I create and curate website content with a passionate heart and an eye for detail. I also write mercifully short poems. Some get published and some sit alone in the dark sipping sherry.
